Dam! Oakland has a new powerful duo that will get both coasts bumpin’ their tracks and setting the scene ablaze with a wonderful rock-rap fusion that is sure to have people talking in 2010. High Decibels have a new ep out and its stellar. Raw and powerfully set to a back country rock guitar frenzy with tight riffs, High Decibels paint lyrically and poetically on an inspired musical canvas with a creative infusion and leaves us hooked. Their tunes will be what a new generation of sure-to-follow knock offs aspire to when they will try to replicate their tight sound.

After the success of the first self entitled High Decibel album, reaching number 3 on CMJ Charts and a super bowl placement with budlight, G Saleem joined the High Decibels band with his childhood friends on Rolling Jack Records which landed him his first licensing contract with Riptide Music. The second High Decibels E.P. "Cut loose" was released early 2010. G Saleem also began recording his first solo album, "Generation After Crack" which will be released later this year. Genration After Crack is the soundtrack for a youth struggling to break the cycle of the generation before them. Devastated by drugs and the culture it created, G Saleem sheds light on the plight of a youth with no direction with songs of pain and perseverance “Two of my cousins got shot, and murdered this year, so I aint dying over nothing it’s for something why I’m here”.
G Saleem always had involvement with music. By the age of 9, G Saleem was writing poetry and singing solo's in the choir at a local East Oakland Church. While in the 7th grade Saleem discovered a new talent and passion for hip hop, when Saleem and now band members of the High Decibels started freestyle rapping after school. Soon they formulated a group called the West Coast Villanz. The group continued recording and performing at talent shows and high schools, releasing compilations and mixtapes. Music wasn't his only form of expression, Saleem also enrolled in the performing arts program at his high school under Jan Hunter. While in the arts G Saleem wrote his first script "The Lost Youth" which he also starred in and recorded. Following the footsteps of revolutionary leaders, G Saleem became a youth activist when he joined Youth Together creating a positive place for youth to express their struggles, and the need for change. After high school Saleem continued his activist work in Vallejo by starting a mentoring program for Vallejo youth in elementary schools called Project S.O.S (save our schools). Teaching Hip Hop workshops, Saleem empowered youth, creating murals and music that would later be performed for the mayor and people of Vallejo in 2008. The following year, G Saleem began recording his first solo album “Generation After Crack” and the E.P. for the High Decibels Band “Cut Loose” which was released early 2010.
